چکیده

The purpose of this study was to investigate the capability Streptococcus thermophilus TISTR 458 on hyaluronic acid (HA) production by using various carbon sources including glucose, sucrose and sugarcane molasses. HA determined a turbidity assay precipitation with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) sugar content analysed sulphuric acid-UV spectrophotometry method. results showed that S. produced maximal yield from molasses at approximately 32.80 ± 4.27 (24 h), 79.03 8.36 h) 213.44 76.79 (12 mg/L, respectively, then decreased gradually. Moreover, an elevated level related reduction in content. It concluded can produce Interestingly, as cheap agricultural by-product is promising prospect source for 458.

The biosynthesis of hyaluronic acid by Streptococcus.

The mechanism of hyaluronic acid chain growth in a particulate enzyme preparation obtained from Group A Strepfococcus has been examined and additional characteristics of the enzyme detailed. Hyaluronic acid chain elongation occurs by the transfer of monosaccharide units from uridine nucleoside diphosphate derivatives to the nonreducing ends of endogenous oligosaccharide. This oligosaccharide wh...

Biosynthesis of hyaluronic acid by Streptococcus.

Synthesis of hyaluronic acid was investigated in a cell-free system derived from a strain of Group A streptococci. Preparative procedures were improved so that an enzyme system 70 times more active than that previously reported was obtained. The hyaluronic acid synthesized could be separated into trichloroacetic acid-soluble and -insoluble fractions. On the basis of pulse-chase experiments, it ...

Production of Hyaluronic Acid by Streptococcus zooepidemicus on Protein Substrates Obtained from Scyliorhinus canicula Discards

This work investigates the production of hyaluronic acid (H) by Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus in complex media formulated with peptones obtained from Scyliorhinus canicula viscera by-products. Initially, in batch cultures, the greatest productions were achieved using commercial media (3.03 g/L) followed by peptones from alcalase hydrolyzed viscera (2.32 g/L) and peptones from non-hydr...

Production of beta-galactosidase from Streptococcus thermophilus grown in whey.

beta-D-Galactosidase (EC 3.2.1.23) was extracted from Streptococcus thermophilus grown in deproteinized cheese whey. Cultural conditions optimum for maximum enzyme production were pH 7.0, 40 degrees C, and 24 h. Proteose peptone (2.0%, wt/vol) and corn steep liquor (2.8%, wt/vol) were highly stimulatory, increasing the enzyme units available in their absence from 660 U/liter of medium to 18,200...

Metabolic engineering of acetaldehyde production by Streptococcus thermophilus.

The process of acetaldehyde formation by the yogurt bacterium Streptococcus thermophilus is described in this paper. Attention was focused on one specific reaction for acetaldehyde formation catalyzed by serine hydroxymethyltransferase (SHMT), encoded by the glyA gene. In S. thermophilus, SHMT also possesses threonine aldolase (TA) activity, the interconversion of threonine into glycine and ace...
